Time Flys!

Excuse me for being a blog slacker this last month!  It is crazy how life flys by these days!  So to recap what has taken my time.....

Weekends lately have been enjoying my time actually being at home and doing little house projects, cleaning, r&r, and piddling around St. Augustine. I am excited to share one of our projects that I love!

Jeff and I purchased a secretary desk for our dining area.  The desk was initally bought to use as a mini china cabinet.  It was the perfect fit for our space, but ended up being a place we would stash mail and not really being used as planned.  Then we had the genius idea to re-purpose it into a BAR.  Jeff removed the mail divider that was on the inside of the cabinet and I started painting.  I failed to take a "before pic" but basically it had the mail slot inside and the color matched ivory exterior.  We went with an antique gold Martha Stewart paint and it was perfect as we have subtle gold accents throughout the room.  The other update was to replace the knobs and went with a "mother of pearl"/gold.  Initally I tried a teal knob as I had them on hand from Anthropologie's after Christmas sale.  Side note, I have always had an obsession with their knobs and hardware!  It's usually the first stop I would make upon going in;)  So I am so excited to finally have a home I can actually buy these for!

On to stocking the inside....We had a bottle of gin and rum along with a couple minis that we put in.  Tall bottles will not make the cut in this mini bar which is fine by me because I love mini bottles and having a variety!  Everything mini is more fun!  Looking forward to my next trip to ABC. Honestly we don't drink a lot, just a lot when we do. ha!  We also were able to put our Crate & Barrel Ice bucket/bar tools, along with a cute PB bottle opener, and PB Bar towel that was personalized to say "P-Berg's" Saloon!  All gifts that we got for our wedding from our wonderful friends:)  The top of the cabinet has our small collection of bar glasses.  I am excited to add to these with neat designs and colors.

The finished product!  Let's have a drink!
